The Schedule

The onsite registration for the 6th DfC will start on 8:30 in the morning and the opening speech will be held at 9:30. From there we’ll race trhough one special presentation, two finals, three workshops and four keynote talks, till we end at around 19:15 and will have a barbecue together. Yes, inbetween are breaks and meals incorporated.

Our venue: Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld

We’re a little bit different than most conferences, so our venue is different, too. The Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld is one hotspot of Cologne’s party scene. Located directly beneath the trainstation Köln-Ehrenfeld, the two halls deliver a unique feeling. Again, the outdoor area will be available, too. So keep your fingers crossed for a sunny day.

Hotels and Accomodation

The first weekend of July is not only the DfC-weekend, but also the weekend of the Christopher Street Day. Many people will come to Cologne to have a great pink party and parade. It’s highly recommended to book your hotel as early as possible. Despite the CSD we could arrange deals with nearby hotels to get a discount for DfC participants. Currently these two hotels offer a rebate if you use the discount-code: “DfC 2011″ while booking your rooms:

  • Hotel 1000. Double rooms available. 35 Euro per person including breakfast.
  • Hostel Köln Double room 89 Euro. Single room 69 Euro. Both rates include breakfast.

Optionally, if you think it is boring to just book a hotel room, you can join our XING-Group or Facebook-Fanpage. At both places you can find boards to offer and seek places to stay for the time of the DfC. Could be some good old student style fun.

The Case Studies

For this DfC we’re looking again for exciting real life case studies, that offer challenge and insights for everyone. The case studies are the framework for your workshops. Participants will be challenged to (re-)think the case studies and prove their knowledge and learn from others. The case owners will be onsite during the whole day giving any insights you might need – your chance to ask what you always wanted to ask., and you’re invited to ask as many questions as you want.

1st casestudy from WWF – World Wildlife Fund

We are very happy to introduce the World Wildlife Fund to the DfC community. The WWF is one of most influencal NGO in the world and now is your chance to help them becoming even more succesful. More information on the casestudy itself will be announced later.

2nd casestudy from Cortal Consors

Last year Cortal Consors participated at the 4th DfC and we gladly agreed, when they asked us, if they could return this time with a casestudy. It happens not every day, that a bank wants to open up. We’re looking forward to this casestudy and we hope you’re, too.

Stay tuned and follow us on Twitter (@dfcworld) or subscribe to the DfC-Newsfeed for news on the case studies.
